Job Title: Assistant Manager – Import & Export (Logistics & Customs)
Department: Supply Chain / Logistics Reporting To: Head – Supply Chain / CEO / Operations Head Location: Kundli/SafiabadExperience Level: 7-12Years
Role Objective
To manage and execute end-to-end import and export operations for solar, EV, and electronic manufacturing components, ensuring 100% regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted production and project execution at Servotech.
Key Responsibilities
1. Import & Export Operations (Core Responsibility)
- Handle complete import & export cycle for:
- Solar cells, modules, inverters
- Lithium-ion cells, BMS
- Electronic & electrical components
- Capital goods & manufacturing machinery
- Manage shipments under:
- MOOWR
- EPCG
- Advance Authorization
- IGCR
- RODTEP
- Ensure on-time clearance of sea & air shipments.
2. Customs & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Customs Act
- DGFT regulations
- EXIM Policy
- GST & allied laws
- Handle:
- HS Code classification
- Duty calculation & valuation
- BOE filing & assessment
- Examination & customs queries
- Maintain proper records for:
- Audit
- DGFT
- Customs verification
3. Documentation & Regulatory Control
- Prepare, verify & maintain:
- Commercial Invoice
- Packing List
- Bill of Lading / AWB
- Bill of Entry
- COO, Insurance
- License & Bond documents
- Ensure error-free documentation to avoid:
- Detention
- Demurrage
- Penalties
4. Logistics & Vendor Management
- Coordinate with:
- CHA
- Freight Forwarders
- Shipping Lines
- Transporters
- Negotiate freight rates and annual contracts.
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery to plant/warehouse.
- Resolve clearance delays and shipment discrepancies.
5. MOOWR & Special Scheme Handling
- Maintain MOOWR inventory and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with:
- In-bond / Ex-bond procedures
- Consumption tracking
- Periodic reporting
- Support internal and external audits.
6. Cost Control & Process Optimization
- Monitor:
- Freight cost
- Duty structure
- Clearance expenses
- Identify opportunities for:
- Duty optimization
- Freight cost reduction
- Process improvement
- Support management with MIS & cost analysis.
7. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Production
- Procurement
- Finance
- Quality & Stores
- Ensure material availability aligns with production planning.
- Support new vendor onboarding and import feasibility.
8. Team Handling & Reporting
- Supervise logistics / documentation staff.
- Ensure SOP adherence.
- Prepare regular reports on:
- Import status
- Clearance timelines
- Cost variance
- Compliance status
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of EXIM laws & customs procedures
- Expertise in HSN classification & duty assessment
- Practical exposure to solar & electronic imports
- Experience in MOOWR / EPCG / IGCR
- Vendor & CHA coordination
- Cost optimization mindset
- Strong follow-up & execution skills
- Excellent coordination & communication
Educational Qualification
- Graduate (Any stream)
- Strong hands-on experience in EXIM operations
Experience Required
- 7–12 years in Import–Export / Customs / Logistics
- Experience in:
- Solar / Electronics / Manufacturing industry
- CHA or large manufacturing setups
- Air & Sea shipments
