About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head our end-to-end Supply Chain function. The Head of Supply Chain Management (GM – SCM) will own strategic planning, inventory governance, logistics excellence, transporter management, warehouse operations, and strict SAP process discipline across all locations. This role is highly accountable for ensuring absolute material availability, optimizing working capital and inventory turns, maximizing customer service levels, and driving transportation efficiency while building scalable SCM processes to support high-velocity business growth. 

Note: Procurement and commercial sourcing remain outside the scope of this operational leadership role. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Supply Chain Leadership 

·         Define and execute the organization's macro Supply Chain strategy aligned closely with business growth objectives. 

·         Build scalable SCM processes, robust governance frameworks, and rigid operational controls across all plants and warehouses. 

·         Drive operational excellence, digital automation, and continuous improvement frameworks across the end-to-end supply chain. 

·         Develop long-term supply chain capabilities that support business resilience, scalability, and seamless capacity management. 

Inventory & Supply Chain Governance 

·         Own total inventory health, inventory accuracy, and working capital optimization across all physical locations. 

·         Establish standard governance protocols for inventory planning, warehouse operations, fulfillment workflows, and material flow. 

·         Ensure robust controls over SAP transactions to secure absolute inventory data integrity and process compliance. 

·         Drive aggressive inventory optimization strategies while maintaining required customer service levels. 

Logistics & Transport Management 

·         Define and drive the organization's logistics and transportation strategy to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and highly scalable distribution. 

·         Develop, strengthen, and govern the company's transporter ecosystem by actively identifying, evaluating, approving, and onboarding new strategic transport partners. 

·         Establish a structured transporter qualification, onboarding, evaluation, and comprehensive performance management framework. 

·         Build and maintain a diversified, high-performing transporter network to assure immediate capacity availability and business continuity. 

·         Lead freight optimization, route rationalization, and transit cost-reduction initiatives without compromising service quality. 

·         Monitor transporter performance metrics via defined KPIs including vehicle placement, on-time delivery, transit timelines, and claims rates. 

·         Ensure transportation risk mitigation through transporter diversification, contingency planning, and capacity management. 

·         Drive automation, digital tracking, and real-time performance dashboards to maximize logistics visibility and operational efficiency. 

Execution & Cross-Functional Alignment 

·         Provide strategic direction for daily production planning, inventory deployment schedules, and dispatch execution. 

·         Ensure seamless alignment between Sales, Production, Warehouse, Finance, and Logistics to achieve business commitments. 

·         Proactively identify micro/macro supply chain risks and implement preventative mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted operations. 

Performance Governance & People Leadership 

·         Establish rigorous SCM KPIs and drive high-frequency monthly business reviews to present operational performance, risks, and improvements to senior management. 

·         Ensure strict compliance with organizational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), statutory requirements, and SAP process discipline. 

·         Drive a culture of high accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement across the entire SCM organization. 

·         Build, mentor, and upskill a high-performing supply chain organization, strengthening leadership capability across planning, warehouse, logistics, and inventory functions. 

·         Foster cross-functional collaboration, ownership, and performance excellence across all teams. 

Required Qualifications 

Education 

·         Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline. 

·         MBA / PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain Management is preferred. 

Experience 

·         12–18 years of progressive leadership experience in Supply Chain Management strictly within a manufacturing environment. 

·         Proven track record in inventory governance, logistics execution, warehouse operations, transporter management, and large-scale network development. 

·         Extensive experience driving digital transformation and process discipline in an SAP-enabled supply chain environment.

·         Network & Process Audits: New Transporter Onboarding & Network Expansion, Transport Capacity Utilization, Transit Damage & Claims Rate, Warehouse Productivity, Zero SAP Compliance deviations, and active SCM Transformation Logs.
