Job Summary
The TRC Engineer is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, testing, and validating Lithium-ion battery packs (primarily LFP chemistry), Battery Management Systems (BMS), chargers, and related power electronics received from customers, service centres, and production. The role ensures timely repairs, root cause analysis, quality improvements, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Battery Repair & Diagnostics
 Diagnose faults in LFP battery packs, battery modules, and battery systems.
 Repair battery packs by replacing defective cells, modules, BMS, relays, fuses, connectors, and wiring harnesses.
 Perform battery pack dismantling, reassembly, balancing, and final validation.
 Conduct charge/discharge cycling, capacity testing, IR testing, and performance verification.
 Troubleshoot communication issues through CAN Bus, RS485, UART, or other interfaces.
Product Testing
 Perform functional, electrical, and safety testing of:
o LFP Battery Packs
o Battery Management Systems (BMS)
o EV Chargers
o Solar Energy Storage Batteries
o BESS
 Verify repaired products against company quality standards.
Failure Analysis
 Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of field failures.
 Prepare technical failure reports with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
 Coordinate with Design, R&D, Production, and Quality teams to eliminate recurring issues.
 Recommend design improvements based on field failure trends.
Documentation
 Maintain repair history, service records, and testing reports.
 Update ERP/MIS systems with repair status and spare consumption.
 Prepare monthly repair and failure analysis reports.
 Maintain traceability of repaired products.
Technical Support
 Provide technical support to field service engineers and service centres.
 Assist customers & Service Engineers in troubleshooting battery-related issues remotely when required.
 Support installation and commissioning activities for critical projects.
Safety & Compliance
 Follow high-voltage battery handling procedures.
 Ensure compliance with ESD, PPE, and electrical safety standards.
 Maintain 5S standards within the Technical Repair Center.
 Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of lithium batteries.
Required Skills
 Strong understanding of Lithium-ion batteries (LFP chemistry).
 Knowledge of Battery Management Systems (BMS).
 Hands-on experience with battery repair and testing.
 Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
 Knowledge of DC power systems and battery charging principles.
 Experience with battery analyzers, multimeters, insulation testers, oscilloscopes, DC power supplies, and electronic loads.
 Good understanding of CAN communication protocols.
 Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
 Good technical report writing and documentation skills.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
Educational Qualification
 Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in:
