Job Description
Role Summary:
The National Procurement Manager will lead end-to-end procurement operations for the country, with responsibility for developing sourcing strategies, negotiating supplier contracts, and ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards. The role requires close collaboration with global teams to align local procurement strategies with international sourcing initiatives. Prior experience in Power Electronics (semiconductors, converters, inverters, drives, Solar Power Generating Systems, Batteries, Cells, components, etc.) is preferred to ensure effective vendor management in a technical domain.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing
- Develop and execute national procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify vendors (local & global) for power electronics components, raw materials, and services.
- Drive cost optimization without compromising on quality and delivery timelines.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Establish long-term partnerships with strategic vendors (both national and international).
- Monitor supplier performance on quality, cost, delivery, and compliance metrics.
- Resolve supplier disputes and ensure continuity of supply.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee procurement planning, forecasting, and inventory alignment with production demand.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Implement best practices in procurement process automation and digital tools (ERP/SAP).
- Track and report KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, and lead times.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
- Partner with R&D, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing teams to ensure supplier capabilities meet technical requirements.
- Engage with global category leads to align on supplier selection and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Share global market intelligence (pricing trends, risks, opportunities).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 10–15 years of procurement/supply chain experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong exposure to the Power Electronics / Electrical / Electronics manufacturing industry.
- Experience working with both domestic and international suppliers.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Certification in Procurement/Supply Chain (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is an advantage.
- Skilled with SAP is an added advantage
