Job Description
Role Overview:
The Director-Finance will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, planning, compliance, and risk management for the organization. This role requires strong leadership in managing all aspects of finance and accounts, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, fundraising, investor relations, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes to ensure financial health.
- Provide financial insights to support business growth, profitability, and cost optimization.
2. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and P&L reports.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in compliance with accounting standards (IND AS/ IFRS/ GAAP).
- Implement robust internal controls to enhance financial integrity and accuracy.
3. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Manage the company’s cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning.
- Optimize fund utilization to balance growth and risk mitigation.
- Liaise with banks, financial institutions, and investors for funding and capital structuring.
4. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations (GST, TDS, Income Tax, etc.).
- Liaise with auditors, regulatory authorities, and tax consultants for timely filings and compliance.
- Keep updated on financial and tax regulations to ensure adherence to legal frameworks.
5. Risk Management & Corporate Governance
- Develop and oversee risk management policies to mitigate financial risks.
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance best practices and ethical financial management.
- Implement internal audit and fraud prevention mechanisms.
6. Fundraising & Investor Relations
- Manage relationships with investors, stakeholders, and financial institutions.
- Oversee fund-raising initiatives including equity, debt financing, and strategic partnerships.
- Prepare investor pitch decks, financial models, and valuation reports.
7. Cost Optimization & Profitability Enhancement
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Develop pricing and cost control strategies to improve margins.
- Evaluate and optimize capital expenditure decisions.
8. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Foster a culture of financial discipline, compliance, and strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: CA / CFA / CPA / MBA (Finance) from a reputed institute.
- Experience: 18+ years in Finance & Accounts, with proven leadership in managing end-to-end financial operations.
- Industry Exposure: Experience in [Manufacturing / Renewable Energy / EV / Any Other Relevant Industry].
- Technical Skills: Expertise in financial reporting, taxation, corporate finance, and risk management.
- Software Proficiency: SAP / ERP / Tally / Advanced Excel / BI tools.
- Leadership & Strategic Thinking: Strong business acumen with the ability to drive financial decision-making.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
